OUR STORY.
Hey gals! Amanda Yesso & Brooke Barrios reporting for duty. The founders and producers of Her Haus Events! We're just two best friends of 15+ years trying to create a space where we can be our queerest selves and feel safe/celebrated doing so. It's no surprise that openly queer spaces are hard to come by. Especially for queer & trans women.
We started Her Haus in 2022 with our previous partners alongside us in order to "have somewhere we enjoyed going." It was just a simple (however, wildly complex) idea! Being more "femme presenting" lesbians came with some downfalls. We found ourselves walking into popular queer spaces and unfortunately, being pinned as straight women. Defending or explaining your sexuality every time you enter a space is frustrating.
The validity of wanting to keep queer spaces queer is something our community is dealing with heavily to this day. BUT! It was pretty disappointing to realize we would repeatedly be at the forefront of incorrect assumptions unless we did something about it.
Being ostracized, treated differently and sometimes bullied in spaces we felt most at home was disappointing. SO, we went to work!

Once upon a summer we found ourselves in Orlando, FL. On Saturday nights the girls ruled the gay scene- it was "Girl The Party" time at Southern Nights. We were in the depths of gay girl heaven. Looking around at the pure joy and euphoria of this night was.....unreal. So, why not bring something like it back home to New Orleans?
We sat down and talked logistics, found a venue willing to hold our first pop-up party and Decadence For the Girls was well on its way! Fast forward just a bit! Our first event was so successful we were offered a monthly residency at The Bourbon Pub and Parade every first Friday of the month. We've been cookin' up events and pop-ups ever since!
OUR MISSION.
Our mission is to create unapologetically queer spaces where women, trans folx and non-binary people are centered, seen and celebrated. In a world that often overlooks us, we curate events that honor what it means to be bold, beautiful and proud. We recognize you are the heartbeat— celebrating in your fullness, held in safety, and connecting through the vibrant cultural spirit of New Orleans.
Our events specifically spotlight queer talent with our performers, dancers, DJs, and staff. This ensures that we build community through performance, art, music and mutual love for what we do. We are dedicated to fostering inclusive, safe environments where every person can feel uplifted, celebrated and part of something bigger than themselves.
If you see us around, tell us hi! We love meeting you guys. It's why we do this!
Connecting with our community and hearing from you is what helps us make this event better and better every month. It's with the help of our friends and guests that ensures each move we make is intentional and with YOU (our guests and Her Haus family) in mind.
Not much of a talker? No, we totally get it.
